DAVE MASON – ALONE TOGETHER – June 1970

Let it be known that this album was huge in the Summer, Fall and Winter of 1970 and just hearing it again creates sense memories of Bohemian Hippie psychedelic days and even more psychedelic nights.
The track Look At You Look At Mewas an instant classic with perfect iconic guitar breaks and solos that for us was pure Hippie Heaven.
This album seemed to be in the air wherever you went; played by Brothers and Sisters everywhere – a real stoned album stamp on a personally historic hallucinatory once-in-a-lifetime year of living totally free.

  1. Dennis, I love this album and I’ve always liked Dave Mason. The title “Alone Together” was the source of some stoned conversations at the time – how many levels of meaning this could have. And of course, watching the vinyl ‘s design go around in circles was an added treat. Thanks for bringing this post to my attention, although your’s is still my favorite go-to music blog! Clare

    • Thanks Clare! I was just going to do one song off of the record until I came across this. Better this way since the whole record is outstanding. My two cents worth if I was part of your conversations at the time would be his separation from Traffic to a solo artist. But that would only be if I wasn’t to stoned sense I couldn’t talk when that happened!!!!

    • Your Welcome!! I have been enjoying your site since the day I found it. I even was looking at buying a “Pong” console which I still might buy after reading your post “Pongs on Drugs”
