Trains and music have had a special connected since the very first trains started running. One of the first to make a name for himself singing songs about trains was “The Singing Brakeman” Jimmie Rodgers. Although Rodgers was known as a country musician in his very short career his legacy has gotten him inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That sure puts him in some very special company. We bring this up to make the statement that tons of people have written songs about trains, hundreds of people have been made famous by singing songs about trains but not many truly lived there lives around trains like he did.

Back to the subject at hand we have Be-Bop Deluxe and their debut album Axe Victim, Released in 1974 when the Glam Rock era was at it’s peak this band and record fit right in. When you look at the back cover photo of the band members you can tell right away that this is a middle seventy’s glam rock band, you don’t even have to bother with trying to find a date. No Trains to Heaven is a classic rock song allows guitarist Bill Nelson and Ian Parkin to showcase their skills. Back in 1971 some classic rock band had put a song saying something about a Stairway to Heaven, so why don’t we spend 6 minutes and 40 seconds of our short lives and listen to Be-Bop Deluxe try and help confirm that thought by telling us that there’s “No Trains to Heaven”.
